JD.com has launched its webshop Joybuy in several countries in Europe, namely Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. The platform was also recently introduced in the Netherlands. The webshop has a selection of approximately 150,000 different products to offer, such as an air fryer for fry lovers, Asian skincare for those who appreciate their appearance, or even mountain bikes for the true sports enthusiasts.
Joybuy’s very diverse assortment ranges from clothing for colorful festivals to frozen products for the afterparty. A sizeable assortment is a characteristic of Asian webshops, as is Joybuy’s focus on low prices and fast delivery. In Asia, fast and reliable delivery is an important part of online shopping. At Joybuy, orders from 29 euros are available for same-day delivery in parts of the country. JD.com’s own logistics network, which consists of multiple distribution centers in Europe, makes this possible.
JD.com is already well known in Europe. The business had previously operated Ochama, an online store with pickup locations where orders were processed by robots. With Joybuy, the corporation is attempting to reenter the market, but this time on a bigger scale. Experts believe that the mix of superior logistics and low prices is Joybuy’s strength.
I decided to test the service delivered by Joybuy by placing an order and am very satisfied with my experience. The products I was looking for were easy to find. Orders placed before 11 a.m. can be delivered that same afternoon or evening, according to the website. My order was indeed delivered that same evening. The products matched the description. I would definitely use Joybuy again, especially because of the fast delivery.
Joybuy is still in its startup phase. The company is working hard to improve elements like the product range, communication, and website. Joybuy is up against fierce competition. The American company Amazon, for instance, has extensive experience with customer service and user-friendliness.
Since an Asian online retailer is joining the European market with Joybuy, new products and concepts will arrive in Europe, offering a greater variety and creative opportunities. Due to this economic development, cultural renewal will take place. If European companies embrace this cultural change by adapting their product range and business model, the cultural change will acquire a structural character.
JD.com is one of the three largest players in China. Its advertising campaigns may have contributed to that. An example of this is the short drama series Jing’an’s CBD, which was fully sponsored by JD.com and distributed through the popular content platform KuaiShou. By linking a modern series about workplace life to relatable themes such as stress, ambition, and independence, JD.com primarily appeals to younger viewers. Young people interact with the brand and identify with the characters at the same time. In this way JD.com uses entertainment not only as an advertising tool but also as a means to build relationships with young consumers and make the brand appealing to a new generation of customers.
JD.com engages in Corporate Social Responsibility, also known as CSR, and reports on it as well. The company gives a clear example of this in its report. It sources more than 3 million different products from rural areas, divided into 136 product categories, and offers them online. The company was the first e-commerce company to set up a special platform for the sale of products coming from the poorest regions in China. Through the internet, residents have more opportunities to earn money and it creates more employment. As a result, JD.com not only ensures economic growth but also promotes social development.
Joybuy’s wide assortment, affordable rates, and quick delivery make it appealing to customers.
